FAQ

At VimHR, we understand that navigating payroll, compliance, and risk management can be overwhelming for business owners. That’s why we provide fully managed Employer of Record (EOR) services—so you can focus on growth while we handle the complexities of employment.

Below, you'll find answers to common questions about how VimHR works, what we offer, and how partnering with an EOR can benefit your business. If you have additional questions, contact us anytime—we’re here to help.

What is an Employer of Record (EOR)?

An Employer of Record (EOR) is a third-party organization that legally employs your workforce on your behalf. VimHR handles payroll, taxes, compliance, insurance, and HR administration—allowing you to focus on growing your business without the back-office burden.

How is an EOR different from a PEO?

A PEO (Professional Employer Organization) requires a co-employment model, meaning you still share liability for employees. An EOR takes full legal responsibility for payroll, compliance, and risk management, so you don’t have to.

What industries does VimHR serve?

While we got our start in staffing, VimHR now works with businesses across all industries, including:

  • Staffing & Recruiting

Who is the employer on record for my employees?

VimHR is the legal employer of record, meaning we handle payroll, tax filings, and compliance while you manage day-to-day operations and retain control over your workforce.

How does VimHR ensure payroll accuracy and compliance?

We use automated payroll systems, compliance monitoring tools, and tax expertise to ensure all payroll and tax filings are accurate and on time, eliminating costly mistakes.

Can VimHR manage payroll across multiple states?

Yes! We handle multi-state payroll, taxes, and compliance for businesses operating in multiple locations, ensuring you stay compliant with all state and federal regulations.

How does VimHR handle employee classification (W-2 vs. 1099)?

Misclassifying employees can lead to serious legal and financial penalties. As your EOR, we ensure workers are properly classified as W-2 employees when necessary, eliminating misclassification risks.

What types of insurance does VimHR provide?

As the employer of record, we cover:

  • Workers’ Compensation
  • General Liability
  • Hired & Non-Owned Auto
  • Cyber & Privacy Coverage
  • Professional Liability (E&O & Healthcare)
  • Crime & EPLI (Employment Practices Liability Insurance)

Can VimHR help reduce my workers’ comp costs?

Yes! Many businesses struggle with high workers' comp premiums. Because VimHR covers employees under our master policy, we offer lower rates than most standalone policies.

What employee benefits are available?

We offer optional benefits administration, including:

  • Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plans
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) & Holiday Pay

Do I still have control over my employees?

Yes! You maintain full operational control—hiring, training, and directing daily tasks—while VimHR handles all back-office employment responsibilities.

Can VimHR help with hiring and onboarding?

Yes! We offer digital onboarding, employee documentation, and payroll setup, so new hires are processed quickly and accurately.

For clients using VimATS (optional), we provide a fully branded Applicant Tracking System (ATS) that seamlessly integrates with payroll.

How does VimHR charge for its services?

We offer two simple pricing models:

Percentage of Gross Payroll – A single rate covering all costs, including payroll, compliance, and insurance.

Per Employee Per Month (PEPM) Model – Fixed pricing for those preferring a subscription-style cost structure.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. VimHR is committed to transparent pricing with no unexpected fees or add-ons.
